Donovan McNabb explains why Andy Reid has enjoyed more success with the Chiefs than the Eagles
Andy Reid is one of the best NFL head coaches in history but endured his share of struggles before his stellar tenure at the Kansas City Chiefs.
In May, the Kansas City Chiefs extended their legendary head coach after their third Super Bowl victory in five years.
The new contract will see him coach through to the 2029 season and make him the highest-paid head coach in the NFL.
Andy Reid could have retired but shut down talks as he signed a record-breaking extension
After their victory at Super Bowl LVIII, reports had swirled around the NFL that Andy Reid could consider retirement.
However, he shut down those suggestions signing a lengthy extension alongside other key executives, General Manager Brett Veach and Team President Mark Donovan.
The head coach dubbed ‘Big Red’ has been the captain and underlying foundation of the franchise’s dramatic turnaround.
Reid was set on becoming the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals in 2013 but Clark Hunt intercepted him at the airport and managed to convince him to take charge of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Former head coach Romeo Crennel had been fired and left the team with a dreadful 2-14 record.
Reid took charge and the rest is history with his three rings in Missouri but postseason success was hard to come by in his previous job.
